ODI Series - aren't we all so over them

I see our boy James Faulkner is doing the business for Lancashire.  Not sure why, but I can't add comments to earlier posts any longer.  I spend ages typing one out on the phone and it disappears....

How is that shoddy bog looking -  is Boycott scathing yet or Botham getting bullish.  Vaughan was recently bullish......

Are they talking $^!& on cricket writers on TV or something valuable

The new coach will have an good time there I think, I'd say he will steel England into a good unit and we might be surprised how quickly that happens- Yes?

  1. I have that problem from my phone sometimes. Double check you're account is showing in 'comment as' before you post. And copy everything you've written to the clipboard. When it does wipe it, you can usually post fine a second time.

I'm not up for 5 ODIs and a T20 at the moment. But if the England boys throw caution to the wind and try some exciting tactics then maybe we will get in to it. Even losing 5 nil would be OK if they look like they're trying to play modern cricket.

I haven't watched a Cricket Writers on TV yet, but you can download the audio from skysports.com, so may have a listen to this weeks on the train tomorrow.

Please can someone tell me why Chris Gayle is playing (awesomely) for Somerset in our noddy T20 comp when his country have a Test a against the Aussies. I can just about accept missing out for the IPL big bucks, but surely Somerset aren't that rich / WICB aren't that poor.

  2. I listened to half of Cricket Writers (http://www1.skysports.com/watch/tv-shows/cricket-writers-on-tv/podcasts) when they debriefed the Test "series". I didn't get on to either the ODI or Ashes stuff they promised to talk about,.

ODI stuff. ODI STUFF!!!!! OH MY EFFIN GEE!!!!!!
Followed the text on ecb.co.uk, had a laugh in the office at the diamond duck and other early wicket. Pleasantly surprised by the rebuilding.
Checked the score as my train rolled in to my home station, 350. With how long left.
    Stared agog at the TV.

Did this really happen? 4-1 New Zealand?

Early days in our brave new world. There is no way they'll be doing anything like this in 4 years time. They'll panic 6 months out from the World Cup and change it all like they do every time.
But hey, for now, just sodding go for it every match. THe best thing for me was that they didn't try to play themselves in for 5 overs after a couple of quick wickets in the middle of the innings: just keep attacking.
Friday, I expect us to play the same way but get more Roy's than Roots and Butlers. All out for 190 in 20 overs.
