  1. Well that was a scary morning!!

    Nice recovery.

Ben Stokes. Well played, not so sure about that leave. Leaving for the spin that wasnt there. Paul Harris would have ben proud of that wicket!

Allister Cook. I bow to no man in my support for the skipper (should have gone to the World Cup) but i was horrified to see him allow Lyth to take first guard this morning. On debut! Strauss always faced up first as opener and Captain.

Another 50 runs in the morning would be nice. 30 more realistic.

Ben, wheres the Test backdrop? Or are you keeping the dancing girls until after the final?

  2. Nice to watch Stokes Root and Buttler. They are looking really solid. I probably wouldn't open with any of them though. I didn't see the start - but you are right Dan - that is shocking behaviour from Cook. I'd rather see Ali up at 2. reckon he can handle it.

Dancing girls will stay until sunday and then we'll have a nice English cricket tea with mrs miggins muffins and a pork pie. Malfoy always likes batting at Lords, but he's lost it a bit recently - be nice to see some return to form with the bat in the morning for him.

  3. Haven't seen anything today other than our final score and the current 120-0. Hope this doesn't turn in to the Saffers massive load of runs at the Oval, or wherever it was.

  4. PS. Saw a blocked called Dan today who looked just like our Nick. You don't have any brothers or cousins working at The O2 Arena, do you?

  7. Right, I've had enough of this! I'm off to Legoland. I'll keep an eye on the time of defeat on my phone.

See you again for the aftermath and/or 2nd Test.

  9. So, I've booked Legoland for every weekend of every Ashes test.

I kept my eye in with the ECB.co.uk lunch, tea and close reports.
I have 3 hours of highilghts from days 3 to 5 on the Sky planner which Jenny will be very pleased to see me spending my day off work so wisely with. The boys have lots of new lego to play with, she's sleeping off 2 days of walking. What else was I going to do.

Loving Cook batting the day to save the Test AND set up the win. Like the good old days!
